In the summer of 1980, while passing through Puerto Rico from the island of Dominica, God called Rev. James E. Daniels to begin an English work for the English speaking population in the town of Carolina.
Pastor Daniels responded to the call, and in February, 1981, Calvary Baptist Tabernacle was constituted. SInce then it has been a missions minded church desiring to reach the Caribbean, as well as the regions beyond, with the Gospel of Christ.
In 1983 as the church grew, it was necessary to begin a day school for the purpose of training our children to live for the Lord. That ministry began with 17 students, grades K4-12. The Lord has blessed, and now the school has over 600 students preparing academically, spiritually, and emotionally to serve the Lord in the area where he leads them.
In 1989, due to Hurricane Hugo the church relocated to a 3-acre property. The intention was to purchase the property as God led. In that location the church grew to a regular attendance of 150 people and the dayschool from 100 to 600. It also gave birth, in 1993, to an Aviation Ministry in order to help local pastors of the Caribbean.
In 1996 a College was added to the ministry in order to train Caribbean national young people for the ministry. |
